J&D Logistics is introducing its ultimatum service, which supplies during an emergency, including the use of calloff contracts or Ad Hoc services.

Our research found:

·Formal logistics cells are rarely planned for in advance as part of a standard emergency response structure.

·For complex or large scale emergencies there is often a reliance on mutual aid from neighbouring agencies including other Service Providers.

In conclusion, although there were local examples of good practice for logistic operations, there was no consistent programme for the acquisition and deployment of emergency supplies.

Services are available in the following formats:

·Standard Van – for everyday multi drop consignments

·Luton – ideal for light bulk

·LGV (7.5T) – for palletised bulk work

Accepting that one size does not fit all, we expect emergency planners to use this Service as a source for logistic planning for meeting targets and clearance of consignments.
